Broad Black Non-Permanent Lines You Can Wipe Away
Staedtler 312-9 is the Lumocolor non-permanent universal pen with a broad B tip in black, sold here in Staedtler's box of 10.
The B tip gives Staedtler's two published line widths, approx. 1.0 or 2.5 mm, so one pen can write a heading and then fill in a block or an arrow. On the pen pictured the broad tip is wedge shaped. That makes the 312 the one to reach for when writing needs to read from the back of a room on acetate, a glass partition or a plastic crate.
Lumocolor non-permanent pens are Staedtler's universal pens: they take on almost every surface and work on an overhead projector. The ink is water-soluble and dries quickly; on film a damp cloth clears it. Of the colours in this family, only black carries Staedtler's lightfast statement. A locked tip shrugs off heavy pressure, and pressure equalisation stops leaks in a plane cabin.
When the ink runs low, stand the pen in a 487 15-9 refill station. Staedtler say it writes again after a few minutes and is completely full after 3 to 4 hours.
