Staedtler 308 SB8 brings together eight black pigment liners: 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0 and 1.2 mm, plus the 0.3 to 2.0 mm chisel tip.
This is the set for someone who already inks seriously. The 0.05 mm draws hairlines for stippling and texture, the middle widths handle everyday drawing, 1.0 and 1.2 mm give borders and heavy outlines, and the chisel adds lettering and thick-thin strokes. Architecture and design students use it to build a full line hierarchy on hand drawings, and illustrators keep it as a studio kit. The stand-up Staedtler box opens out as a desk stand.
Staedtler's black pigment ink resists fading and is indelible; it is waterproof on paper, and their Australian catalogue calls it acid free. It erases on drafting film and highlighting over it causes no bleeding. Caps can stay off for at least 12 hours without drying, Staedtler say, and the long metal tips are made for rulers and templates.
