The Finest Line In The Pigment Liner Range
Staedtler 308 005-9 is the black pigment liner with the 0.05 mm tip, the narrowest of the 308 line widths, sold here in Staedtler's box of 10.
A 0.05 mm line is for work that has to look almost etched: stippling, fine hatching, botanical veins, hair and texture in portraits, and tiny lettering on maps and diagrams. Build tone with many light strokes rather than pressing harder, which protects the very fine tip.
Staedtler's black pigment ink is rated indelible and lightfast, it is waterproof once on paper, and highlighting over it causes no bleeding, they add. The catalogue adds that it is acid free. The long metal tip is meant for ruler and template work, and black pigment liners can stay uncapped for at least 12 hours.
Staedtler build it in Germany around a PP barrel, with airplane-safe pressure equalisation.
