Staedtler 250 13-HB is one tube of Mars micro carbon leads in the chunky 1.3 mm width and the everyday HB grade.
A 1.3 mm lead sits between a standard mechanical pencil and a 2 mm leadholder. The broad core shrugs off heavy pressure, leaves a wide, even stroke for sketching and marking out, and suits writers who find 0.5 mm leads too fine. HB keeps that broad stroke clean rather than smudgy.
Staedtler list the Mars micro carbon lead for paper and drawing card, describing it as smooth gliding, highly flexible, extremely break resistant and easy to erase, with jet black lines. The finer widths come 12 to a tube; the 1.3 mm tube holds 6, and this width is made in HB only.
Lead widths are not interchangeable. This refill needs a pencil built for 1.3 mm lead and will not feed through a 0.5, 0.7 or 0.9 mm mechanism.
