Staedtler 2430 C24 holds 24 soft pastel chalks in assorted colours, double the starter box, with extra light tones, greens and earth colours for landscapes and portraits.
Beyond the basics, the 24 chart adds cream, orange, bright pink, magenta, a mid blue, lime, two further greens, olive, ochre, dark brown and grey. With more mid and light values ready to hand you can build skin tones, foliage and sunsets with fewer layers, which keeps the paper tooth free for final highlights.
On Staedtler property list: brilliant colour, a high degree of light fastness, a soft mark and easy blending. The sticks are square at 10 x 10 x 65 mm: draw with a corner for detail, or lay the stick flat for broad washes of colour.
