Blue Coloured Leads For 2 mm Leadholders
Staedtler Mars Lumochrom 204-3 is a tray of 12 blue coloured leads, 130 mm long, made for 2 mm leadholders such as the Mars 780 C.
Blue lead has a long history in drawing offices and studios. A blue under-drawing stands apart from graphite, so sketchers use it to rough out figures and comic panels before inking, and drafters use it to flag notes, revisions and checking marks on a print.
Staedtler describe the Lumochrom lead for drawing and sketching, on drawing card and transparent papers. It has a rounded diameter of about 2 mm, so it drops into any common 2 mm holder. The tray label reads blau/blue, and Staedtler state the leads are made in Germany.
Keeping blue in its own holder saves swapping leads mid-job. A red 204-2 tray is also available for corrections.
