Hard 2H Leads For 2 mm Leadholders
Staedtler Mars carbon 200-2H is a tray of 12 hard 2 mm leads, 130 mm long, for the Mars 780 C and other common 2 mm leadholders.
2H sits on the hard side of the scale, so it lays down a light, crisp line that holds a sharp point and does not smudge readily under a drafting hand. That makes it the usual choice for construction lines, setting out and fine detail that will be inked or darkened later.
Staedtler make the Mars carbon lead for paper and drawing card, in a rounded diameter of about 2 mm and seven degrees from 4B to 4H. Each lead is 130 mm long, and the 12 come in a small plastic tray that keeps them from snapping in a pencil case or plan drawer. Staedtler state these leads are made in Germany.
A lead pointer or the sharpener built into the Mars technico 780 C keeps the tip fine. Softer HB or 2B leads from the same range suit shading and final linework.
