Twelve Colours On A Three-Sided Barrel
Staedtler 187 C12 is a box of 12 Noris colour triangular coloured pencils in assorted colours.
A three-sided barrel gives each finger a flat face to sit on, which is why many parents and teachers choose triangular pencils for children who are still settling into a steady hold. Staedtler call the 187 barrel ergonomic and say the triangular shape keeps writing and drawing relaxed, and the flat sides also stop it rolling off a sloped desk.
The twelve colours are the ones in the hexagonal 185 C12 box, among them peach and van dyke brown for people, willow green and green for plants, and pale blue for sky. The barrel carries the Noris stripe with a stars pattern, and Staedtler describe rich leads with high break-resistance. Their sharpener advice for the 187 is the 512 002 or 512 128 double hole tub.
