The Full Noris Colour Palette In One Box
Staedtler 185 CD36 is a cardboard box of 36 Noris colour pencils in assorted colours, matching the 36 colours Staedtler say the range is available in.
With the whole palette to hand there is less need to fake a colour by layering. The box brings in shades the smaller sets leave out: sand and golden ochre for dry grass and sandstone, scarlet and pink, cyan and sea green for water, sap green and light olive for foliage, lavender and delft blue for evening skies, warm sepia for old-photo tones, and a grey plus a light grey for shading. Older students, keen colourists and adults working through detailed colouring books tend to want exactly this spread.
The pencils are hexagonal Noris colour 185 with the stripe design. Staedtler point to strong break resistance and rich leads, and for sharpening they name the 512 002 or 512 128 double hole tubs.
