Eighteen Colours: The Step Past The Basic Box
Staedtler 185 C18 holds 18 Noris colour pencils in assorted colours, a middle size between the twelve and twenty-four boxes.
Once students start shading rather than just filling shapes, twelve colours runs out quickly. Staedtler's colour list for this box adds yellow, carmine red, turquoise, violet, fawn and light grey to the everyday twelve, so there is a proper purple for flowers, a sea colour that is not just blue, a sandy fawn for beaches and animals, and a soft grey for shadows and stonework.
The pencils are Staedtler's hexagonal Noris colour 185 with the Noris stripe on the barrel. Staedtler talk up the rich leads and the grippy, non-slip finish, and suggest a 512 002 or 512 128 double hole tub sharpener to keep the points in shape.
Compare other coloured pencils or the wider Staedtler range, and see art and craft supplies.
