The Middle Grade For Everyday Writing
Staedtler tradition 110-HB is the all-rounder: a box of 12 HB pencils for school books, office notes, forms and sketches that do not need a special grade.
HB sits in the centre of the tradition scale, between the soft B grades and the hard H grades. It is dark enough to read easily and hard enough to keep a usable point through a page of writing, which is why it is the default pencil in so many pencil cases and desk drawers.
In Staedtler's words it is a high quality pencil for writing, drawing and sketching. The break resistance comes, they say, from the lead formulation and super-bonding, and the writing feel is a velvet soft surface with a smooth gliding lead. Each barrel is red and black with STAEDTLER tradition HB in gold and a black end cap; Staedtler state the range is made in Germany.
Prefer a built-in eraser? The tradition 112 HB adds one. For classrooms and offices the HB also comes in a cup of 100.
