Firm H Grade For Neat, Light Work
Staedtler 110-H is a box of 12 tradition pencils in grade H, a firm lead that gives a clean, light grey line and needs sharpening less often than the softer grades.
H is one step harder than F and two steps harder than HB. It suits filling in small boxes on forms, labelling diagrams, ruling margins and laying out lettering before you go over it in pen. Because the mark is light, it also lifts away cleanly with a good eraser when the layout changes.
Staedtler explain that the tradition owes its strength to its lead recipe, which they call a special lead formulation, and to bonding the lead firmly into the wood, describing the result as unbelievably break-resistant. The red and black barrels are printed STAEDTLER tradition H in gold, and Staedtler state the pencils are made in Germany.
Choose 2H, 3H or 4H if you want an even paler, harder line, or F if H feels too faint.
