Staedtler Mars Lumograph 100-5H comes as a box of 12 hard pencils that draw a light, thin line and hold their point through long sessions of ruled work.
With 5H the line is pale enough to sit quietly under ink or colour but still visible against a straight edge. It is a sensible choice for technical illustration, engineering sketches, map and site layouts, and for fine hatching where tone needs to stay light.
Staedtler specify an approximately 2.0 mm lead and say the Lumograph graphite resists breaking during sharpening and use. Lines repeat evenly, so a drawing started with one pencil can be finished with the next from the same box.
Staedtler give Germany as the country of manufacture. Use gentle pressure on firm paper for the cleanest result, and a Mars plastic 526 50 eraser for tidying up.
