Fine Pale Lines From A 3H Hard Pencil
Staedtler Mars Lumograph 100-3H is supplied as a box of 12 hard pencils that put down a light, narrow line for layouts, construction and careful underdrawing.
At 3H the graphite is firm enough to keep a needle-sharp point through long runs of line work, and the mark is pale enough to vanish under ink, paint or darker graphite. That suits perspective grids, lettering guides, pattern drafting and botanical outlines.
Staedtler list a lead diameter of roughly 2.0 mm for 3H, the same as the other hard degrees, and say the Lumograph reproduces evenly and stands up well to sharpening.
Made in Germany according to Staedtler. If you need something lighter still, the range continues through 4H to 10H; for a firmer grey, step back to 2H.
