Slotted weights and hanger for force and mass experiments
Educational Vantage Slotted Weights, supplier code NK1118, are a set of 10 x 10g slotted weights made from iron with nickel plating, supplied with a weight hanger that has a hook at the top.
Educational Vantage says the combination of slotted weights and hanger lets a student quickly create any desired amount of weight, or mass. The set is intended for experiments involving force, acceleration and mass. It can be used with pulleys, or to explore Hooke's Law by adding the weights to springs, with pulleys and springs sold separately.
The slot lets each weight sit on the hanger, so the load can be changed in 10g steps during an experiment. Educational Vantage calls the set an open-ended resource for the classroom or science lab, and notes it suits learning that involves STEM and STEAM based exploration.
Use the weights with springs or pulleys (sold separately) for Hooke's Law and pulley work. Browse science and STEM resources, maths equipment, educational supplies and wider classroom supplies for the lab.
