A chair that gives back pressure when you squeeze it
A dense foam seat, 80 x 25 x 76cm, covered in blue PVC. Squeeze it and it applies pressure through the trunk. Maximum user weight 70kg.
Most sensory seating is passive - a wobble cushion moves under a child, and that is it. This one responds: the child squeezes and gets deep pressure back through the trunk, which is the input that settles a proprioceptive seeker. It is a self-administered calming tool that happens to be a chair.
It also rocks. A child who needs to move to concentrate can rock rather than get up, and the shape helps align the spine while they do it - which is the practical argument for it over a beanbag.
Maximum weight is 70kg and the supplier requires adult supervision. Both matter: this is not a chair to leave in a corridor.
Age: the supplier says 3 years and over.
