The SAM Pelvic Sling II Medium is a circumferential belt that stabilises suspected pelvic fractures during early emergency care. A patented buckle applies a pre-set compressive force of 150 N, confirmed by an audible click, preventing over- or under-tightening. Single-provider application takes under one minute, and the low-profile design keeps the abdomen clear for procedures.
The sling fits hip circumferences of 81-127 cm and weighs approximately 355 g. Its radiolucent, MRI-safe construction (to 3 T) allows imaging without removal. Moisture-resistant materials suit field conditions, and the device is reusable after cleaning with standard detergents.
