Four balls, four colours, a foamy surface that is oddly hard to put down
Pack of 4 air-filled stress balls, approximately 8cm each, in purple, red, blue and green. Soft rubber with a messy foam finish. Ages 3+. $22.50 the pack.
The finish is the reason these work. A smooth stress ball is a squeeze and nothing else; the foam-textured surface gives the fingers something to do between squeezes, so it holds attention longer than a plain one.
Air-filled and soft, so they compress easily. That suits a smaller or weaker hand better than a dense gel ball.
Four colours in the pack - purple, red, blue and green - which makes them easy to allocate to individual children rather than sharing one between a group.
8cm each, about the size of a tennis ball, and ages 3 and up per the supplier.
Being plain about it: these are not indestructible. An air-filled ball with a soft rubber skin will eventually split if a child picks at it, and at $5.60 each that is a reasonable trade for a soft, satisfying texture. Buy them as consumables, not as furniture.
