Cubed Foam Protection in a Backpack Hard Case
The Panaro MAX485S is a 30 litre watertight hard case filled with cubed foam and fitted with a padded backpack harness built in, sized at 485 x 357 x 201 mm inside so a drone, camera kit or field instrument rides on your back instead of in your hand.
Panaro's datasheet lists a breathable, cushioned back support with adjustable shoulder straps and a waist belt, so the weight sits on the hips on longer walks. The case itself weighs 3.91 kg with the foam fitted. Outside it measures 544 x 408 x 215.5 mm, and it splits into a 79.5 mm lid and a 121.5 mm base. Panaro publish IP67, STANAG 4280 / DEF STAN 81-41 and MIL-STD-810H documents for the MAX485 shell.
Double throw latches, an automatic pressure release valve and holes for two padlocks look after the contents, and a soft grip handle on top means it can still be carried like a normal case. Pluck the foam cubes to the shape of your gear and the lid foam holds it down.
