A 395 Litre Trunk With A Lid That Lifts Clean Off
The Panaro MAX1090H510-R is the removable-lid version of Panaro's big MAX1090 trunk, an empty 395 litre watertight case with a 510 mm deep interior.
Inside you get 1090 x 680 x 510 mm of open space, 70 mm of it in the lid and 440 mm in the base. Instead of a hinge, the lid comes away completely once its latches are released, and Panaro fit side handles to the lid so it can be lifted off and set down. The datasheet gives the removable version 12 latches, with a butterfly steel latch kit offered by Panaro as an option.
To move it, tip it onto its paired wheels and pull on the big folding handle; for stairs or a ute tray, Panaro add grips near the bottom of each side for a two-person lift. The bare case weighs 23 kg. Four automatic pressure release valves balance the air inside when altitude or temperature changes, and the nylon pins are fibreglass reinforced against corrosion.
Panaro publish Teslab report 25A299A for this size. It records IP67 dust and immersion results, the NATO STANAG 4280 and British DEF STAN 81-41 packaging tests, and several MIL-STD-810H storage, drop and vibration methods. It ships empty, ready for your own foam, frames or loose kit.
