Marbig 51160 is a box of 1000 plain red polyethylene packaging envelopes, 175 x 125mm, for carrying paperwork on the outside of a parcel.
When a carton lands in a busy goods inwards area, the paperwork needs to be found before the box is opened or moved on. A strong red panel with no print stands out against brown board and grey satchels, which is the reason ACCO give for the colour. Because it is plain, the same envelope can carry a delivery docket, a returns form, a certificate or a note for the recipient without the wording on the front getting in the way.
ACCO describe the envelope as polyethylene with a superior grade adhesive that is made to avoid crinkling and sticking to itself. They say an A4 sheet goes in with just two folds. They do not publish a film thickness, a backing liner type or an outdoor rating for this code, so treat it as protection for paperwork in transit rather than a waterproof seal.
