Orange Foolscap Manilla Folders, Twenty to a Pack
Orange foolscap folders from Marbig, code 1108606, on the 170gsm board ACCO Australia publish for it, twenty to a pack. Orange is loud enough to carry a meaning across a room, which is most of what a filing colour is asked to do.
What ACCO Australia publish against 1108606 is short and worth repeating exactly: 170gsm manilla board and a foolscap page size. They do not publish what the colour should signify, and neither do we. The photograph shows a matte board folder with the corners rounded on the open edge and creases scored down the fold, both plainly visible at full size.
Work in progress is the usual job for a colour this bright. A file that has to come back to a desk rather than go into the cabinet is easier to spot in a stack, and twenty is about the right number for the jobs actually moving at any one time.
Set the convention once and write it down somewhere other than in one head. The rest of the shades sit in manilla folders, larger legal formats in legal office supplies, cabinets and boxes in filing and storage, and the brand itself in Marbig.
