Each jacket expands to ninety millimetres and holds up to seven hundred sheets, so a file that has outgrown an ordinary manilla folder still sits in a standard filing cabinet drawer instead of being split in two.
Marbig publish this as a foolscap file for storing bulky items in standard filing cabinet drawers, made from heavy duty buff manilla board with a three side closure that keeps documents from slipping out. The jacket is open along the top edge and gusseted down the side and across the bottom, which is what lets it grow with the file rather than holding a fixed thickness.
Buying five at a time covers several bulky files in one order, and the buff finish drops straight into an existing manilla system without retraining anyone. Because the closure runs on three sides, a jacket can be lifted out, carried down the corridor and put back without the contents fanning out.
