Hammer wooden shapes onto cork to make a pattern
The Learning Can Be Fun Hammer-It Standard Set, supplier code HITSET1, includes 1 board, a variety of geometric shapes, tacks and a wooden hammer for making patterns on cork.
Learning Can Be Fun explains that children choose shapes, then use the hammer to secure them onto the piece of cork with tacks to build their own pattern. The shapes and the hammer are made from wood. The supplier says the board is great for both playtime and the classroom, and recommends it for ages 4 and up.
Learning Can Be Fun says the activity is a great way to improve fine motor skills. Children plan where each shape goes, then tap it into place, so a design takes shape piece by piece. Corkboards, shapes and tacks are also listed separately.
Corkboards, farm shapes, tacks and the school pack are in the Learning Can Be Fun range. For more hands on making, browse wooden craft supplies, educational craft supplies and early learning and sensory.
