Close Off USB Ports Without Touching Software
The Kensington USB Port Blocker Rectangular (67914) physically locks unused USB ports so a stray flash drive cannot be plugged in to copy data off, or load anything on.
Group policy and endpoint software can restrict USB use, but they take time to set up and do not suit every device. A physical blocker works on its own. ACCO describe it as software free: plug it into the port, push the button to lock, and the port is closed. No technical experience is needed, which suits front desk, retail and shared machines.
ACCO also describe how the wider system handles ports that stay in use. A USB Cable Guard captures a keyboard or mouse cable in its port, and a USB Port Block stops access to the neighbouring ports in either orientation. ACCO do not publish a contents list for this code, so we cannot confirm which of those parts are in the box.
ACCO call it near universally compatible with the USB ports of most devices. ACCO list a 2 year warranty.
