A digital timer that counts up or down
The Educational Vantage Jumbo Timer, supplier code CT2077, has a large clear digital display that times up or down in 1 second increments, to a maximum of 99 minutes 59 seconds.
The screen shows a small M and S for minutes and seconds. Educational Vantage lists an integral stand, a magnet mount, an on and off switch and a large Start and Stop button. The timer is silent while counting down and an alarm sounds when the countdown is complete. It is recommended for ages 5+ and takes 1 x AAA battery, not included.
Counting both ways lets one device time a set task or measure how long something takes. The stand and magnet give a choice of standing it on a desk or mounting it, and the supplier lists a display of 7.5 x 5.3cm on a timer of 10 x 10.5 x 2.1cm.
It runs on one AAA battery. Teachers can use it for timing tests and classroom games, and children for homework or chores, as Educational Vantage suggests. See classroom organisation, teacher resources and classroom supplies.
