Marbles do three jobs in a school and all of them are worth $8.00. They are counters that will not blow off a desk. They are the projectile for a launcher, a ramp or a marble run. And they are a game that a group of children will organise themselves without a teacher.
32 marbles at 180g works out at about 5.6 grams each, which is the standard size - they fit a marble run, a projectile launcher and a child's hand.
These are glass, and they are small and round. That is a genuine hazard for anyone still putting things in their mouth, and glass breaks into sharp pieces if it is stood on or thrown at a hard floor. Keep them away from very young children and off staircases. We would rather say that plainly than leave it to be discovered.
