Two life cycles in one set - bean plant and apple tree
12 magnets: 6 for a bean plant life cycle and 6 for an apple tree. Largest piece about 23 x 18cm. Guide included. Ages 5 and up. $70.00.
Two cycles rather than one is the reason to buy this set. A single life cycle teaches the sequence; two teach the pattern - that an annual bean and a perennial apple tree go through the same stages on completely different timescales. Sorting two sets of six is a much better task than putting one set of six in order.
Giant, at 23 x 18cm for the largest piece. That is a whole-class resource on a magnetic board, not a table card set. Children can place pieces from their seats and the class can see whether it is right.
The guide has the detail. Step-by-step information about each stage, so a teacher who is not a botanist can answer the question that follows the sorting.
Ages 5 and up. It needs a steel-based magnetic board - test yours with a fridge magnet before you order.
