80 pieces, robots that spin and bounce, and stickers to name them
Interlocking bases, gears, connectors, a handle, robots, cranes and stickers. 80 pieces. Robots 5.7cm high. $130.00.
The handle is what makes it a machine rather than a model. One crank drives the whole factory, so a child sees the chain of cause and effect all the way from their hand to the robot bouncing at the far end. That is a different understanding from turning each gear by hand.
Robots that spin and bounce give the mechanism a visible output. A gear train that just turns is abstract; a gear train that makes a robot jump is a result, and children then change the gears deliberately to change what the robot does.
Stickers are included to personalise the factory. It sounds trivial and it is the reason children come back to a build they finished last week - it is theirs.
Interlocking bases mean the factory has a footprint and stays put, rather than sliding apart when the handle is turned.
Works with all Gears! Gears! Gears! sets, so it combines with the Build and Bloom flower garden into one much larger machine.
Counting, sorting, matching, patterning, problem solving, cause and effect, sequencing, spatial relationships and fine motor work - the supplier's list, and a fair one for a set with a crank on it.
