A Laminator That Picks Its Own Speed
The GBC iLam 1000 Touch is a fully automatic A3 pouch laminator that reads the thickness of what you feed it and chooses the speed, according to ACCO.
On a machine used by the whole office, the setting is usually the part that goes wrong: someone runs a thick pouch on a thin setting and ends up with cloudy film. ACCO describe a smart sensor that recognises document thickness and selects the best speed, so there is no dial to leave in the wrong place. Pouches from 80 up to 250 micron are accepted, which covers light paperwork through to stiff signage.
ACCO list a top speed of 1000mm per minute and pitch the machine at heavy office use. RapidHeat brings it up to temperature in about one minute, and it shuts off after 30 minutes without use. A starter kit of pouches is included. No warranty length is given on the ACCO page for this model.
