The Stiffest Finish For A Card Sized Document
GBC BL175M54X86 holds 100 gloss laminating pouches at 54 x 86mm, the credit card size in ACCO terms, made at 175 micron for a rigid result.
Thickness is the whole difference here. A 175 micron pouch leaves a card with almost no flex, which is what you want for a key card, a site induction card or a pass that gets pulled in and out of a pocket many times a day. The box marks this weight as extreme durability, one step above the 125 micron pouch in the same size.
ACCO describe the plastic as giving a firm, glossy finish and the sealed pouch as protecting the contents against tampering, which matters for anything with a name, photo or permit number on it.
The one catch is the machine. Not every pouch laminator is rated for 175 micron; ACCO list the GBC iLam 350, for example, at 80 to 125 micron only. Other card sizes sit in small laminating pouches, with more in laminating pouches and lamination supplies.
