A White Base For Painted Air-Dry Projects
FIMOair 8103-0 is Staedtler's white air-drying modelling clay in a 250g foil-wrapped block, the plain canvas of the FIMOair range.
White is the colour to choose when the finished piece is going to be painted. Acrylics and poster paints sit true on a white surface, so a dish, a name plaque or a small figure keeps the colours you intended. Staedtler list painting and varnishing among the things a hardened model can take, along with filing, sanding and drilling.
The clay hardens in the open air, so a classroom or kitchen table is all the equipment needed; Staedtler's phrase is pottery without a kiln. They describe the texture as smooth and clay-like and the hardened result as dimensionally stable.
Staedtler aim it at art and hobby use as well as schools and kindergartens, and state it is made in Germany. Bigger blocks of the same white come in 500g and 2kg.
