FIMO How-to-create set 8025 HTC6 teaches the knit and braid technique: rolling fine ropes of clay, plaiting and twisting them side by side, then cutting rounds from the textured sheet.
Staedtler pitch it for creations with intricate detail, and the photos show why: rows of gold, berry and speckled ropes laid together look like knitted wool or woven cord. The 3 round cutters in the box stamp out earring discs and pendant centres from the finished panel.
You get 4 half blocks of 25 g, the cutters, a modelling roller, a modelling stick and a step-by-step leaflet. The colours are a metallic gold, a botanical pink with fine speckles, a pale speckled botanical shade and a deep berry metallic. Bake at 110°C for 30 minutes.
