The Small Penguin, For Hands Under 16 cm
This is the smallest of Fellowes' three Penguin vertical mice, a wireless model for anyone whose hand measures less than 16 cm from wrist crease to fingertip.
A vertical mouse only helps if it fits, and an oversized one forces the fingers to stretch for the buttons. Fellowes make the Penguin in Small, Medium and Large so the grip can be matched to the person. The small is also the easiest of the three to drop into a laptop bag for work on the move.
Like the rest of the range it is symmetrical, with a bow tie switch at the front to set the buttons for left or right-handed use. It runs wirelessly from a USB dongle or by Bluetooth, and Fellowes list compatibility with Linux, Windows 2000 and Windows 7 to 11, Mac OS X 10.6 onwards, HarmonyOS 2.0 onwards and Google Chrome. A laser sensor, scroll wheel and glide base handle the tracking.
Fellowes name BioCote antimicrobial protection for the Penguin without publishing a test standard; we make no claim about it. Fellowes state the range was tested by FIRA International to the ergonomic requirements of EN ISO 9241-5.
