Fellowes list this comb for documents of 411 to 450 pages, the top of their comb range. It has the 21 loop pattern used on A4, and Fellowes describe the back as oval (their item description reads O/BACK), a shape that helps a very thick book sit flat when opened. It suits operations manuals, tender submissions, policy binders, lab books and annual archives.
The catch with a 51mm comb is the machine. The machine must be rated for big jobs: Fellowes pair this comb with 21 loop binders built for up to 450 sheets, so a small desktop punch rated for a few hundred sheets will not open it fully.
