Esselte 45220 are the black Elements metal bookends, a heavy gauge L shaped stop for holding books and binders upright on bookcases and shelves.
Each bookend is a flat metal plate bent into an L. The base slides under the first few books so their weight keeps the upright from tipping, and the rounded corners keep edges tidy. ACCO describe the finish as gloss paint over metal and say the bookends give excellent stability on bookcases and shelves.
ACCO give the size as 145 x 140 x 210mm, which suits a row of ring binders or hardcover books. They also point to industrial settings where durability matters, so the Elements pair works in a workshop office or a stockroom as well as a library corner.
