Twenty-five rectangles that turn mat time into a seating plan
The Elizabeth Richards Rainbow Blocks Rug, supplier code ERRUGRB, is a 3m x 2m classroom placement rug divided into 25 coloured rectangles, with a 6m² sitting area.
Elizabeth Richards lists each rectangle at approximately 60cm x 40cm, making it easy to assign personal space during group learning. The rug has a cut-pile surface on a non-slip latex backing and is approximately 8mm thick. The supplier suggests it for mat time, circle time, show-and-tell, mindfulness sessions and morning meetings.
A grid layout gives classroom routines a visual structure: children find their rectangle, sit, and the group is ready. The supplier describes the cut-pile surface as durable for daily use, while the latex backing keeps the rug in place. Colours may look slightly different in person due to studio lighting.
Elizabeth Richards suggests vacuuming the rug shortly after opening to remove dust from transit. See more classroom carpets and rugs, classroom seating, early learning and sensory resources and the Elizabeth Richards range.
