Number cards with shapes and subitising patterns
EDX Education School Friendly Playing Cards 8 Deck Set, EDX item code 24536C, gives a class eight decks of 56 numeracy playing cards stored together in a plastic container.
Each deck carries 14 numbers from 0 to 13, with four coloured shapes set in standard subitising patterns. EDX uses four basic shapes, a circle, square, rectangle and triangle, and four different colours, which EDX says helps children use the cards easily. The distributor describes the container holding all eight decks as sturdy plastic.
EDX suggests simple card games such as memory, matching or snap to learn number concepts. The cards support subitising, reading, writing and saying numbers, and basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. With eight decks in the set, groups can each have a deck of their own during maths games.
EDX lists the cards for ages 4 to 10 and for kindergartens, schools and home activities. See the EDX Education range, more maths equipment, teacher resources and the wider educational supplies catalogue.
