Pattern blocks with cards at three levels of difficulty
EDX Education Pattern Blocks Activity Set, EDX item code 22032, includes 100 plastic pattern blocks and 12 two-sided activity cards with 3 levels of difficulty.
EDX describes pattern blocks as both a play resource and a tool for learning maths. The set can be used to develop geometry, symmetry, angles, fractions, perimeter and area. EDX lists an age range of 3 to 6 years and calls it an essential tool for nurseries, kindergartens and home activities, which makes it a natural fit for early years rooms.
The three difficulty levels let children start simple and move on as they gain confidence. EDX notes the set links art and mathematics, stimulating imagination and creative thinking while building basic maths and fine motor skills. Children copy card designs or invent their own patterns with the same 100 blocks.
Keep the cards with the blocks so the next group can start straight away. Explore the EDX Education range, more maths equipment, early learning and sensory resources and the wider educational supplies catalogue for classrooms and home learning.
