Flexible sticks that snap together into shapes and models
EDX Education Junior GeoStix, EDX item code 21365C, is a construction set of 200 flexible sticks with 30 two-sided activity cards for building shapes, patterns and models.
EDX describes eight different length flexible sticks, along with quadrants and semi-circles, that snap together. Sizes range from 2.5cm to 15cm. The set comes in a plastic container holding the 200 sticks, 30 activity cards and a teacher's note. EDX lists an age range of 3 to 99 years and presents the set as a STEAM resource linking engineering, art and mathematics.
Children practise fine motor skills, creative thinking and problem solving as they join straight and curved sticks together. EDX notes that the pieces snap together very easily and that finished creations can include moving parts. The two-sided activity cards add guided challenges alongside open-ended building.
The plastic container keeps every stick together between sessions. Explore the EDX Education range, more maths equipment, early learning and sensory resources and the wider educational supplies catalogue for classrooms and home learning.
