The EDX Education Balancing Path, EDX item code 63702, has 28 detachable pieces in 6 colours that slot together with 4 connectors to form a variety of walking paths.
EDX designs the path to improve children's stability and coordination. The pieces are made of high density plastic with a non-slip surface, and each measures 5cm wide x 29cm long x 10cm high. EDX describes building straight, wavy or curved walking courses, and lists an age range of 3 to 6 years.
Walking a narrow, raised path asks children to focus, place their feet and keep their balance, which builds gross motor skills. Because the 28 pieces reconnect in different ways, the course can be rebuilt in new shapes. EDX describes the surface as non-slip.
