A 500g pack of terracotta clay for shaping and painting
Educational Colours Air Drying Clay Terracotta 500g, supplier code ADCT500, is a ready to use terracotta modelling clay that sets hard in open air with no baking required.
This ready to use modelling material sets hard when left to dry in open air, with no baking. Educational Colours lists jewellery, ornaments and figurines as typical projects. Drying time varies with thickness and climatic conditions, as the brand notes. A wet brush or wet hands while shaping helps smooth the surface, and the dry piece can be painted and varnished.
Makers can shape a piece, leave it to dry and come back to paint it in a later session. Wet hands while working help give the smooth texture the brand describes. Keeping the opened pack sealed airtight, as Educational Colours advises, stops the clay from drying out.
Seal the package airtight after every session to keep leftover clay soft and easy to shape. Browse modelling clay, paints from craft paints, the wider Educational Colours range and our art and craft supplies collection.
