Watercolour Artistry with the Control of a Pencil
Derwent Watercolour Pencils in Cobalt Blue give you the precision of a drawing pencil and the fluid beauty of watercolour in a single, easy-to-use tool.
Each pencil features a soft, smooth 3.5mm water-soluble strip encased in Californian incense cedar wood for effortless sharpening and comfortable handling. The highly pigmented Cobalt Blue core delivers strong colour purity and reliable light fastness, whether you apply it dry for detailed linework or blend it with water to create flowing washes. The hexagonal barrel gives you steady grip for fine, controlled marks. Unlike permanent ink pencils, watercolour pigment remains re-wettable once dry, so you can rework areas freely.
Used dry, these pencils layer and blend beautifully thanks to their soft texture. Add water and a brush to lift the pigment into subtle, luminous washes - ideal for mixed media work where you want natural, painterly results without harsh, saturated colour.
This box of 6 Cobalt Blue pencils suits artists, illustrators, and students who want consistent colour across a project. A trusted choice for schools, art rooms, and home studios across Australia.
