Derwent Academy Watercolour Pencils combine the precision of a pencil with the expressive beauty of the watercolour medium. The soft, smooth 3.5mm water-soluble strip can be used dry for layering and blending, or activated with water to create flowing colour washes. Zinc Yellow is highly pigmented for strong colour purity and light fastness, and unlike Inktense, the colour remains re-workable once dry.
The hexagonal barrel, crafted from Californian incense cedar, gives you confident control during detailed work and sharpens cleanly. These pencils suit mixed media projects, botanical illustration, sketching, and any work where subtle, moveable colour is an advantage.
