Derwent Lightfast pencils are formulated to be 100% lightfast, with an oil-based core that resists prolonged colour change so artwork stays true for up to 100 years under museum conditions. All colours comply with ASTM D6901 and Blue Wool Scale ISO 105, meeting internationally recognised lightfastness standards.
The buttery, velvety texture of the oil-based core allows colours to mix and blend directly on the page, creating a paint-like effect. Van Dyke Brown delivers a rich, opaque laydown with a strong point suited to detailed drawing and layering techniques.
