Indoor only, 60kg, and the reason a child will actually use them

Six crocodile-shaped stepping stones, 40cm long x 9.9cm high, in red, yellow, orange, green, light blue and dark blue. Textured tops, non-slip rubber bases. Supports up to 60kg.

Two limits worth reading first. MTA specify these are for indoor use - hardwood, carpet and similar - and that they support up to 60kg. That is the lowest limit in our balance range, so they suit early years and lower primary rather than a Year 6 class.

What you get for that is a shape a child cares about. "Cross the river without touching the water" works with plain discs; it works considerably better when the stepping stones are crocodiles, and a four-year-old will do twenty crossings instead of five.

At 40cm long they are a genuine stride apart when spaced out, which is what makes the balance real rather than decorative.

The supplier's own guidance: children should play barefoot to prevent slipping, or wear sensible footwear indoors; and the stones should be on a dry, even surface for maximum stability.

Where it sits on weight. Load limits across our balance range run from 60kg to 200kg and they are not interchangeable - the crocodile stones and the two Weplay seesaws stop at 60kg, the river stones at 80kg, the Gonge Build N' Balance system at 100kg, and the wooden rocking board at 200kg. Check the figure against the students who will actually stand on it, especially in upper primary.
