To change one, glide the old foam off the metal mechanism by pulling across and away from the frame, and make sure the handle is clean before sliding on the new head. The supplier lists acrylic paint, oil paint, mediums, varnish and gesso as suitable media.
Dense foam absorbs paint easily, so there is less reloading, and the supplier says it spreads paint evenly to a smooth finish. Spare heads let a worn or stained roller go back into use. The foam is washable and reusable, so squeeze it clean after each session.
