The Creative School Supply Company describes a two-piece design with a printed front and a blank backing card. The numbered windows, 1 to 25, open one each day to reveal a hidden image or message while counting down to Christmas. Students colour the windows with pencils or markers, or wash over them with watercolours, then fix the backing card on.
Because the backing card is blank, every calendar becomes personal: students add a small design, motif, message, drawing or photo in each window. The supplier suggests double sided tape or a glue stick around the border to attach the backing card to the printed front.
