A round card base for weaving bowl and nest shapes
Zart Cardboard Weaving Bases Pack of 10, supplier code CB811, are 175mm diameter cardboard bases for weaving an individual bowl or nest shape from ribbon, straw or raffia type strands.
The Creative School Supply Company, which makes the Zart range, designed these bases so each student can weave their own individual bowl. The supplier suggests ribbon, straw or raffia type strands, and describes the base as easy to use for successful results. Each base measures 175mm in diameter and the pack holds 10. The finished piece is a woven bowl or nest shape rather than a flat panel.
Starting from a pre-made base means students can go straight to the weaving. They choose strands, plan colours and work the shape up from the base, using ribbon, straw or raffia type strands as the supplier suggests. Each strand type gives the finished bowl a different texture and colour.
The supplier names ribbon, straw and raffia type strands for these bases. Pair the bases with knitting and yarn craft supplies or raffia from the Zart range. Find more card frames in craft cardboards and wider ideas in educational craft supplies.
