Zart Basics Dip Pen Calligraphy Set, supplier code PN052, is a traditional dip pen set from The Creative School Supply Company with one tapered handle and metal nibs in five sizes.
Zart says each wedge-shaped nib has a broad and a narrow edge, so a single fluid stroke can make lines of varying width. The set includes one plastic, lightweight tapered handle 13cm long and metal nibs in five sizes, from narrow to broad: 0.75mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm. To use, slot the nib mount into the holder.
Zart lists illustration, calligraphy, drawing, sketching and lettering as uses, and says the nibs work with drawing inks, liquid watercolour or food dye. For lettering, Zart advises holding the pen at a 45 degree angle to keep type uniform. After use, rinse the nibs under cold water and dry them well with a paper towel.
